  • Where is the air vent in Yamaha SZ- R Fuel Tank

My Yamaha SZ-R is behaving like it ran out of fuel after riding for 2-3 Kms (even though it hasn't). Opening the tank cap fixes that problem.
I doubt the air ventilation is blocked, but I am unable to locate the air vent. Request the experts to help me on this. Thanks in advance.

    Warm regards,
    Nidin

You need to check for any moisture or any incombustible particle in the tank which might be entering the carb and preventing a proper combustion. Happened to me once. I had the tank cleaned and the carb washed with petrol. Fixed the issue for me.

Thanks for the reply friend. Today again this happened. After running less than 1 KM bike lost the acceleration. Then I have opened the tank lid without turning of the ignition (used my spare key). The problem disappeared suddenly. Got the acceleration bacak to normal. Today I have called my mechanic. As I doubt He told me the tank air ventilation might be blocked. Tomorrow evening I will get the same checked with him. Will post the update by night.
        Thanks again.

            Hi Friends,
Today I went to mechanic. He cleaned the air vent using pressurised air. It is a very tiny hole in the petrol rank lid. And cut and removed a small piece of tank cover which was blocking the air ventilation. Now the problem solved. Mechanic charged me Rs 20 only.
