  • RE Thunderbird 500 battery??

    Hello fellow riders,

I have a RE Thunderbird 500. Though the bike is working fine, I'm very much bothered by the stock battery.

The bike has an Exide 14aH battery. I got a new exide battery with a warranty of 18 months. But in the warranty period, i got the battery replaced twice. Now I'm running on the 3rd battery in the last 18 months & it is also not able to hold charge.

I'm looking for a replacement battery but I'm looking for alternatives to the stock exide.

I've heard about the following two alternatives:

    1.SF Sonic 14aH Maintenance Free
    2. Amaron 9aH battery installed by some riders.

Please help me in deciding what to go for.
I'll be glad to look into any other alternatives.

    Thanks.

    Hi Abhinavsri01,

I have heard about the stock battery coming with the bike have a different set of quality compared to the same specification available at the retail shop.

One of my friend who owns TB500 had similar issue of battery not able to provide sufficient power to horn when the headlight is on. He suspected it to a faulty wiring, but after much troubleshoot he identified that the battery is the issue.

He then brought same model Exide battery from the nearby retailer and now he is not facing any issue with both horn and headlight on...

So you can go ahead with Excide if you cannot find any other option.
