  • Need clarification on Standard Accessories for a new bike

I was planning on getting a Hero Duet for my family. I got the below quotation from a Hero showroom near my home.

There is a section called Standard Accessories. Upon enquiring, the dealer said that it includes the price of side view mirrors, floor mat, rear side footstep etc.
I can understand the rear side footstep to be a additional accessory but I don't understand why I have to pay additional for the side view mirrors and floor mats. Aren't they supposed to be stock part of the bike without having to pay additional ? Atleast for the mirrors.

Can someone please clarify this ?

I think the salesman named "rear view mirrors" by mistake when you asked about the accessories. Rear view mirrors are always part of the two wheeler and dispatched by the company along-with the two-wheeler although it is dismantled to avoid damages.

Other than mirrors, all other accessories are optional and you MAY opt to buy them, you can decline also. Most of the times, such optional accessories include mat, seat cover, rear footstep, leg guard (for motorcycle) and indicator buzzers.

I know about the mat, seat cover, buzzers etc you've mentioned. And I thought the same. But the sales person said that this price does not include that. She said this price is for mirrors, side foot rest, mat. For the other things, the charge is some ₹3500 odd.

Try talking to the manager. The rear view mirrors are not accessories. They are mandatory sold along with the vehicle. A vehicle without rear view mirrors is not road legal (although in India, rules are for fools).
I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.
