• Yamaha SZ-R Swingarm replacement

I recently had a accident, and my SZR's Swing Arm got bent. I'm looking forward for buying a used Swingarm to replace it.
I am thinking of changing the rim to a FZ rim to install a Bigger rear tire. so did I need to go for the FZ swingarm or the original SZ one?
I don't know if both are the same either.

flying machine11, most modern bikes are designed to be produced at a low cost. Heavier parts drain more power, especially rotating parts.
If you were to install a wider rim, it requires one to move the sprockets depending on the difference in width.
According to your requirement, the sprocket has to be moved 20mm to the outside. Even if you manage to do this, it may result in a bent shaft.
Moreover, increasing rear tyre width alone will cause the rear end to kick out of corners. So the front tyre will have to be wider too. Deep pockets and lots of patience needed.

My suggestion would be to install 110/80rear and 90/90front on existing wheels if wider tyres is what you want.

Hope this helps you.

Re: Yamaha SZ-R Swingarm replacement

I have used a bigger tire on my szr. Dont remember the size. It was a used tier bought from second hand market. They told me it was from pulzar. I have changed to stock tier within a week. Because the swing arm was not sufficient to fit the width of the tier. Connecting road to rear break was touching the tier while breaking. So please ensure there is enough space at both sides for smooth running.
