  • Heavy battery drainage with P8 Bike HID

I installed P8 Xenon HID in my father's Hero Glamour. Light throw was good enough but battery was severely affected. While riding there was noticeable difference in horn intensity. After riding >30 bike won't self start next morning. Also, once bike got shut off in middle but started after a while.
Specification: 35W AC Xenon HID with kit.
    Hero Glamour battery: 3Ah
What could be the issue? The kit is to regulate 35w , isn't it?
I had to change the bulb to Osram 40/45 and it works just fine.
I am thinking to install this HID in my Honda Hornet 160R. Any suggestion to avoid above issue in Hornet. Hornet has 4Ah battery.

As you are planning for 35w which is stock rating as well there shouldn’t be any problem for battery and alternator as well. Might be some sort of problem in wiring connections. As far as i know HID shall be used on dc setup. I love the wide spread of hids. But only one things put me down is when we switch from low to high beam or while giving passing signal it takes about atleast 5-10 sec to glow upto its max brightness.

It's AC type (Also mentioned on relay). At shop the other mechanic tried to test with battery with all combination. It didn't work. So the product is safe as far I have seen while installation.
I will install in Hornet and update the result.

          Update:
I think I found out the problem
The Battery of Hero Glamour is just 3Ah. Product mentioned at least 5Ah Battery.
