  • Feiro F2 rear tyre problem

    Hi friends,

I have a feiro f2 and the original size of the rear tyre was 90/90, after asking a few people and also a few of xbhp members too, I bought a new tyre of 100/90 but now the problem is my rear tyre just touches the swingarm.

The tyre touches just at the front not at the sides as in its not clear in the picture above.

The only solution I could find out is to add a new link to the chain and pull the tyre back. As in the above pic the sprocket assembly nut have a bit of space so that it could be pulled backward.
But now I couldnt find a new link for my chain any were in my city.
Will there be any problem if I add a link of a used chain ?
OR is there any other solution for the whole problem
    Plz suggest urgently...

I don't think adding a new link to the chain will pull the tyre back. The rear sprocket is fixed at the swing arm, and even if you find a longer chain and adjust, it will not be enough.

Since the stock tyre was 90/90 and now you've put 100/90, the side profile of the tire has increased by 9mm therefore it is touching the swing arm at the front, and this bike has a short wheelbase.

      You have three options.

      1) Change your rim to 17 ".
      2) Exchange your tire to get a 100/80-18".
      3) Change back to your stock tires.

Changing the rim to 17 " I guess I need to get a different tyre aswell.

Consult a good mechanic.. I have fitted TVS JUMBO 120/80 X 18 in mt fiero FX.. When it was fixed with the help of a local mechanic it was touching the swingarm at both sides. I havn't checked whether it was touching the front portion.. After consulting a good mechic he solved the issue.. Don't remember how.. It was 4 years back..
