  • Illegal logistic/handling charges

I had recently visited the one and only Kawasaki dealership in Pune to enquire about the Ninja 300. The experience was good until I received the quotation. 3.58 lacs on road including logistic fees.
If I'm not wrong, the road tax for Pune Rto for this category is 11% which makes it 32,780/- (confirmed with online portals), whereas the quotation indicates Rs.46,136/- as tax. Isn't this illegal?
I have written to Kawasaki India about the same and awaiting reply, but I need inputs from you all.
    Thanks!

This is usual across India, they charge their own commission on the Road Tax. And some even have that logistics charge or simply increase the base amount.

But how can I avoid paying that?

Even i have faced the same issue with the same Kawasaki brand in chennai. This made me to drop the decision of buying Ninja 300. I have sent an email to Kawasaki India but No response. This is something which needs Government's attention to implement strict rules.

Same here. Kawasaki India kept asking me for my contact details for further communication even though I had provided them my phone number since the very first email. Even I'm losing interest in buying the bike. I guess, a formal complaint in the RTO might work.

Even the big brand doesn't care about this. How will a RTO listen on this issue?

I've heard that Pune RTO had taken action on some car dealers in 2018 for charging handling fee. So this might work.

Seems to be good. Everyone should raise the complaint Instead paying extra money from our pocket to get our dream bike.

Aadhar/ PAN card/ electricity bill, whichever bears your current address.

But when i enquired in KTM show room, they told that aadhar is mandatory for vehicle registration.

I really doubt it. I wasn't asked for aadhar in Bajaj and Kawasaki in Pune.

I'm guessing road tax will include cess and some other fees. I've faced the same issue when getting the quote for r15 v3 here in kerala. They gave me a quote of 1.69 but it's showing 1.60 on bikewale.
