  • Accessories sold as a kit - For RE Interceptor 650

    Hello All,

I just received my RE Interceptor 650 about 5 days ago. When I wanted to buy basic accessories like wind-shield, heel-guard, intake-cover etc. I was told that I can not buy it separately and must buy as a kit which would cost me approximately 8K.

Can anyone please confirm if this is true? I don't think handlebar brace (Rs 600), Bar end finisher kit (App Rs 1200), Machined Reservoir Cap (Rs 675) are worth it! Mind you, I had already paid 3100 for large engine guard!

    Thanks!

    Himanshu

You should not buy accessories from showroom because these items are not manufacture by third party and showroom guys purchase such items from shops. then add their margin some times 100% on purchase cost then sell it to customers.

It least what i observe so far so it is always better to buy accessories from outside where you will experience variety of option to choose from.

        Dear Deepak,

Thank you. Unfortunately, in the case of Interceptor, There are hardly any available in shops!

While all accessories I got installed are RE, it is really unfair to customer as one has to shell out 8K for not everything we may need.

I don't think that's the case. I got mine delivered on 2nd Feb and was not given any such quote of 8k even when I asked only for the flyscreen.

Bro, give it a couple of months and the market will be flooded with the accessories.
Interceptor being a recent launch will not have many option in the aftermarket right now. If you can wait for some time, you might get a lot of variety to choose from at a lot less price.

May I also suggest to check online. They too get the aftermarket stuff at a good price.
I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.

                Hello Guys,

Update: I spoke with someone at Zana - Delhi and they are coming out with a touring combo for Interceptor 650 in couple of weeks. They already have top rack available. I am waiting for a combo (Saddle Stay, Top Rack, Pillion Back Support).

                Cheers

                  Nice .
Meanwhile keep an eye out for online retailers as well. You might get a better deal.
Do post lots of pics after the mod is done. a fully kitted up tour ready bike would be really eye catching.

                      Hello Guys,

I got Zana Touring kit for Interceptor / Continental GT installed on mine.

I will have to raise pillion back support by about 2 inches to make it more effective.

Hey, Got original seat altered for what I wanted. I paid 1300 for alteration. Although, having ridden 3K on this bike, I still feel the seat has room for improvement.

                          Hope this helps.

                            That looks absolutely stunning bro.
Those mods look like they need not be removed for daily commuting. They can stay on permanently and luggage can be loaded up as and when needed.
I have seen some stuff on Himalayans, they are so large and protruding out from the bike, that they can't be left attached to the bike for daily office commute.
They have to be fitted every time you gotta go for a long ride and removed when you come back.
Although it is not a major pain and fitting is easy, but it is extra work nonetheless.

have you loaded it up and done any rides to see how well they work??

                              Hey Ankey,

                              Thanks!

Well I have put it on and have never taken it off. Never needed to. I have done quite a few rides during monsoon (pouring down cats and dogs) and winter. I use the same motorcycle for daily commuting without any problem too! So all in all I am really happy with how it turned out. :-)
