  • HELP: Query regarding avenger sprocket

I usually get my bike serviced at the castrol bike zone in wazirpur, delhi. The other day i asked the engineer as to which sprocket should i get changed to attain a higher top end. He replied that avengers have the biggest sprockets, be it the front one or the rear one, so there is no scope of changing either of them! Is it true that a higher top end cannot be attained through sprocketing in avenger-180? I get a max top end of 115.

I'd not think there is anything called the biggest sproket ! Did he tell you what sixe sprokets are there front and back ?

You can always put a front sproket with an extra tooth, provided it fits in the hub and there is enuff space arnd it, and of course if the chain pitch fits it properly. Similarly you can reduce a tooth or two from the rear sproket !!

But changing more number of teeth can put too much strain on the drive train, considering how less power our Indian bikes make !!
Kawasaki Ninja : Because lazy sunday afternoons should be despatched at 160 kmph!!!
Hyosung Aquila : Because sometimes you need to look cool while riding at 40 kmph and you can do that only on a cruiser !!!

u can reduce the rear sprocket teeth to achieve a greater top end at the sacrifice of acceleration..Go to karol bagh and tell them u want a sprocket with lesser number of teeth..they make custom sprockets according to what u specify..it wud be better if u can find another bike's chain set that fits..
If U haven't Seen GOD, U haven't gone fast enough
