Fz25 cold start issue

    Fz25 cold start issue

    I'm facing this small issue on my fz25,Whenever the bike is idle for more than a day or two and if the fuel level is 1-2 bars there's a difficulty in starting the bike. I have to crank the bike atleast 2-3 times and give it a little acceleration to start
    I went to the service centre and they said it's normal. I've never faced this issue before. My bike is just 1 year old and I've been facing the issue since the past 2 months
    They cleaned the fuel injector and spark plug but the issue hasn't resolved. The battery is functioning normally. The problem doesn't occur if there's about half a tank of petrol
    Do you have any suggestions on how to tackle this?

      Do you use the choke when cold-starting the bike? That's the right way to cold-start.
      When using the choke, never apply acceleration since the fuel mixture will flow into the engine and cause more trouble starting.

      I have an Apache 200 which doesn't have a kick rod. The only way to start is the electric start. I always use the choke as recommended in the manual for cold starts. You should check your manual to see what it says.

      I faced the same issue you had on my bike and I had to put it on reserve and start with choke. It worked fine. Strange, but that's what worked for me. I only had that problem once.

        FI bikes have autochoke system, no need to apply choke manually [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

          Oops, my bad. I didn't notice FZ25 which is obviously an FI bike.
          Well, hopefully someone can solve the cold start problem.

            Just check the both fuel filters and get it cleaned. They get clogged with time. Since you don't have the problem with slightly more amount of fuel in tank, fuel filter can be suspected. Also get the evap system cleaned too.
