  • RX 135 5Speed Clutch issues

    Hi,

I had recently stored my RX 135 5-Speed 2000 model from scratch.
For the block i had used the original Yamaha factory made block from Indonesia 3KA (YP1). The bike had been delivering an excellent performance since then, despite that the clutch was old and was revitted during the restoration. So I thought to put in a new or an original stock condition 5 speed clutch. I luckily found one standard stock condition clutch from my dealer who found it for me from a bike being scrapped in Agra. We put in this new clutch, it is 2 days now, there is almost negligible noise from the clutch, the bike is running well again but not the same as on that old revitted clutch. For example: In the 2nd gear it is suddenly high on rpm but does not respond to that rpm - that unique rocket take off is missing in 2nd gear. In 3rd it shoots off again like a rocket. In the old clutch it was a smooth transition from 1st to 2nd to 3rd and so on.

(Please also note since the block is new i am using 2T oil in the pump and petrol tank both)

Please recommend. I wonder why it was performing even better on the clutch that was 15 years old and revitted. Shall I give this clutch sometime or shall I switch to that older revitted one.

    Regards
    A Farhat
