  • fz v2 front disc caliper play

    Dear xBhpians,

    I own an FZ V2.
It occurred to me that there is some problem in my bike.
The front disc brake caliper on the wheel is not working properly and when I engage the brake, there's feeling of play and I feel it in the lever. Also, there is some noise in the disc.
The front disc caliper, master cylinder, brake pads each and everything is just perfect the only problem is the sliders in disc caliper has worn off and the whole brake caliper is moving side by side when brake applied.
So I asked my elder brother and he said you need to fill in the gaps of sliders or make a bush and fit in.

So I am wondering what to do. Please help!

      Hello

From your post I can read that there is a play in your caliper assembly. I guess there is a rattle noise whenever the bike goes over rough road and potholes. This happens when the caliper rubber seals and bushes are worn out.

A spare can be obtained from local spare parts shop known as "brake caliper rubber kit". You can replace the same with any local mechanic and should resolve the problem.

Ensure that the mechanic know what he is doing. If the wheel cylinder (cylinder contained in caliper assembly) rubber seal is worn out, you will have to bleed the entire system and replace with new brake oil of right grade and quantity.

      A sample rubber kit.

ASC also does this job. But I have better experience with local mechanic.
