    Buying suzuki shogun

    hi all,,
    i am planning 2 buy a suzuki shougun(2nd hand)which is around 8-9 yrs bt well maintained so dat i can use it fr DRAGS..so wil it really help me in drags.is it gud fr drag races..need all ur suggestions so dat my money will not go in2 vain ..

      Hi Friend,

      Its hard to find a well maintained Shogun nowdays, If you want to build the bike for Drag then you can search for average condition bike to save money because anyways you need to overhaul the engine and Bore Kit for Drag performance.

      If you are keen on Drag builds then I suggest to go for RX135 5 speed, because its hard to get spares for Shogun or Shaolin.
      RX1355 Speed spares are easily available in the market

        You can't go wrong with the 'gun but , the rx 135 5 speed can beat "the boss" in a drag, both being stock. But it is hard to get a 135 5 speed these days!

          If you are using it for drags holing pistons,seizures, breaking conrods are common if any of these goes be rest assured that getting these spares are next to impossible, else look out for a Rx 135 5 speed and be happy.
          "Engine tuning is not an exact science, but with some practice and patience you'll get comfortable with your skill and be able tune for any conditions mother nature throws at you"

            Well, engine parts... pistons, cylinder kits, etc. seem to be available here. Not too difficult to source them.

              thnkz fr all ur valuable suggestions....I tried 2 gt a rx135 since last 6-7 months bt didnt find any in orissa..i am getting dis shogun fr 9-10k n need 2 do som bore n engine wrk on it .......

                      Dude, body parts don't seem to be easily available. I could try for duplicates though. Dunno about the quality... would have to see. I myself want a black fairing... but have not been able to get an original anywhere yet. One silver fairing available, but I can't put that on my black gun. Hate the look of my gun with the broken fairing.

                      I was lucky enough to be able to source some parts couple weeks back though - a lock set, indicator, footrest bar, etc.
