Hi everyone. I own a 1986 Yamaha Rx 100 which I used to ride till my graduation in 2007. As I had to leave my home town (I have been away ever since), I dismantled the bike, packed it and stored it for good, hoping to restore it someday. Finally, that day did come after 12 years when I brought the dismantled bike to Delhi in my car and began the restoration project at my home.

I have stripped the bike clean for paint job and chrome plating (if I can find some reliable person who still does that) but before that, I want to get the engine examined from some good mechanic who can restore it to mint condition. I guess the barrel has been re-bored once before and it was running fine as far as I can remember but still, I want all the bearings, bore and crank examined. Also want the person to check the gearbox and everything else that moves in that whole unit.
The problem is that I am not able to find a good mechanic who would know the work well and not swindle a whole lot of money from me. Also, a reliable store from which I can source the parts for Rx 100. Recently I restored by bullet 350 1991 model and there is no dearth of parts and mechanics for the old bullet in Delhi, unlike for two strokes motorcycles, I guess. I tried to find out mechanics online but could not gather any information about them.

The only option left to me is to go out in 45 degrees heat and search for mechanics in old Delhi or around Karol Bagh. I stay in Dwarka and have only weekend to work on my bikes so if you guys can suggest a reliable mechanic who preferably works on engines of two strokes, that would be a great help. And also, the parts dealer for RX 100. I have heard about someone who do’s the engines in Rajendra Nagar area, don’t know the actual address. Please help me out with some information on these.

I guess two strokes are a fast dying breed, help me restore one before its too late
