  • bajaj pulsar 150 engine rebuild

I have bajaj pulsar 150 and it has started eating oil and emitting white smoke..I have asked local mechanic who is telling for partial engine rebuild..I also talked with bajaj ASC they are asking for complete rebuild that may cost upto 12-15k..local mechanic is saying that crank is in good condition as it is not making any noise..what should I do..?? please suggest me some good advice..

It's better to give more details of the usage of bike so that members can guide u well.
As of now changing piston rings will solve the problem I think.
However it's once again depending on the condition of the valves, bore and piston.

If its eating the engine oil and giving out white smoke, its usually a piston ring issue. The piston ring is usually pretty cheap but the work charge might cost some.
