  • Ignition problems with Pulsar 220 SF

    Hi guys!

I recently gave my bike for servicing at Bajaj service center because the self start was not working on my motorcycle. Even jump starts failed.

In the service the following changes are made to rectify the problem:

[1] Adjusted and tweaked valve tappets
[2] New spark plugs - Bajaj ones
    [3] New battery - Exide
    [4] Cleaned the carburettor
    [5] Cleaned the air filter

This resolved the problem and my bike would start with a single press of the switch.

Now, I go to office every day, travelling through a 13 km long stretch. When I was riding the bike, even after servicing, it loses ignition and misfires. It turns off for a second and comes to life again. It does not stop on idling, just when riding.

Local mechanic said there was some water in the carburettor, which he cleaned. However today, the bike gave me the same symptoms, loses ignition and gains it back, again.

Please help me in determining the problem could be.

Rain, that reminds me of a college senior who fa we similar issues in Pulsar 150, water was present on the sparkplug terminals and would cause ignition problem.
