Someone here mentioned earlier that he told the seller that he'll get insurance himself and saved a few brands doing the same. He also mentioned that they will tell you that you can't get it done from outside but actually you can, o ly that it is needed before applying for RC.

20K looks a huge amount ,,, but you haven't specified for how many years it will cover ,,,,

If it is covering multiple years check how many years ,,,,,

I have an NS200 2017 model with 95K IDV and Paid 3K for 1 year,,,, 3 days back on icici Lombard site ,,,

In the past I had Unicron with 75K IDV and Paid 2K for 1 year ,,,,


You can check the approximate amount values on icici Lombard site. And if you take multiple year policy you will get some discounts ,,,

The high insurance could be for the new policy. The changes as regulated by IRDAI for two wheelers are applicable for the vehicles purchased after September O1, 2018.

The policy will be available as per the options mentioned below (for Two-Wheelers):

-If you buy a two wheeler insurance policy for one year, then OD (Own Damage) Cover will be applicable for one year and Third Party Cover will be applicable for 5 years.

-If you buy a two wheeler insurance policy for 5 years, then OD (Own Damage) Cover as well as Third Party Cover will be applicable for 5 years.

But do check with other companies that provide insurance, you might be able to save some cash.

And also it's not compulsory to get insurance from your dealer, don't fall for any such tactics.

Its a 5 year policy since its mandatory to get a 5 year third party insurance with a new 2 wheeler purchase now, which I think isnt such a good idea. Breakdown of the insurance am yet to receive. Will post when I do get it.
