  • NS 200 missing problem

Hi, I am Navanshu. I bought a new Pulsar NS 200 on the 4th of August 2019.
Right from the purchase date, I have been facing this problem which is commonly referred to as 'missing' or jerking. Upon acceleration, the motorcycle feels like it's missing when I accelerate to a constant speed. While riding, I noticed that there are some jerks while riding between 3-5k rpm in the 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th gear. It feels like the the motorcycle hits reserve even though there is ample fuel in the tank.
I took my bike to Shiva Bajaj and told them about the issue but the guys at the SVC simply refused to even look into the issue and told them that I am thinking too much and the bike has no problem. After some time, I went there again, and this time they cleaned the carb and told me that the bike is fine now. On that day, I did not face any such problem, but the next day, the same problem reappeared.
Is it because of a faulty carb or bad tuning of the carb? Can anyone please point me in the right direction?
And since the Bajaj SVC won't help, can anyone point me to a good mechanic in Delhi, Noida or Ghaziabad? And... is it okay for me to void the warranty like that?

Since you said that the carb was cleaned, it is not the carb. A faulty cdi unit and ignition coil can cause such missing problems. In your case I guess the CDI is the culprit. Just replace it under warranty. Some service centres would deny it but tell them it's a serious issue or complain to bajaj.

A CDI normally has a life of 8 years but nowadays faulty components are coming from factory itself. I've faced the same problem in my HH passion. It felt like the fuel had become reserve due to the missing. Replacing the CDI solved the issue.

Hello, seems like a handful of people are having a similar issue and even me. Even I have been facing the same issue and I have been to a bunch of people and they say that it’s not an issue so I am going to have a look into it myself. Previously I have changed the spark plugs and at the initial start the jerking disappeared momentarily only to reappear on the second start. Usually misfire is produced either by fuel or spark problems. I had been thinking about getting a fuel jet change but since the misfire disappeared on the plug change I am strong on believing that it is a spark issue so the next step will be getting the ignition coils changed and hoping that it disappears permanently.
