    Cbr 250r

    Hi Guys,

    I've a CBR 250R and the lock set needs to be changed (as per the mechanic). I'm having trouble unlocking the bike now. HONDA says it would cost around Rs. 13,000 to change the lock set. At this point of time, its not something I would be able to pay for. Does any one have any lead where I can get a used lock set? Any lead or help is much appreciated.

      I have the 2011 model and faced instances where I was asked to replace it.. But I got it uninstalled at the SVC and took it to a good key maker. Problems were sorted out.

        Same thing happened with me twice. During monsoons, my lockset started jamming. I used machine oil to bring it back to working condition but i was not able to lock the bike.

        So i went to a roadside keymaker on advice of guys at service centre and bang!!
        He did nothing but twisted and applied some force in a particular way and it worked.
        Also he advised me to change my keys because according to him my key was worn out.

        So before going for a change u can give this a try. Go to someone who repairs locksets and makes keys.

          Cbr lock set costs this much because at the bottom of main lock there is electric circuit which connects to fuel pump. You can separate it from main lock and use lock of hero honda passion, tried and tested

            According to what I learnt only 2011 model costs above 10k, the newer models are cheaper . The Most recent one is around 3k.
