As notable from my previous thread. I am trying to get hold of an old semi vintage / semi classic - yet daily use bike.
Now I know recently the CBU / CKD rates were knocked down but it is still somewhat of a mystery to me.
For instance I need to know if I can import a say 2006 bike .. say an BMW F650 or a TDM 850 or perhaps a 1700 Vmax but through the CKD route. And pay a 15% tax on the imported parts as a whole - instead of say paying 75% plus landing duty etc etc if I imported the whole CBU bike.
If you have imported an used bike through this CKD method. Please, I want to hear from you. Know the ins and outs. What to dos vs what not to dos..
And if you know of any agent / bike garage that does this kind of thing in West Bengal / Kolkata - then please share that contact with me.
