SO any bright ideas for the battery??
right now am without a headlight. so need some inputs from ppl who have fittd HIDS
I suppose, not having a DC setup does mess up the battery real bad then. For now I have settled for the larger alternator and NightBreakers. Although nowhere close to HIDs, it does a decent job and does not blind oncoming traffic too.

      Very true.
Higher the 'Ks' i.e. Kelvins in headlamps, more Bluish will be the light's output.

I have experienced it many a times.
Not only in rains but also in fog, dust, haze, snow or anything slightly less than a perfect visible road, HIDs and those 'wannbe' blue lights are rendered useless. Although they may blind the oncoming vehicles, people inside the car won't be seeing anything better ahead. These lights are useless even on newly constructed roads which are laid recently and are black in colour!
Still, 'projected-HIDs' are much better in this regard, as they have more focussed light!

IMHO, the safest bet is (be it HID or else!) to align the focus of beam in such a fashion that you are getting the best visiblity of road, and certainly not to give trouble to oncomers.

D2S mostly. If you check out the bulbs, there will be a tag with the HID type. All I've seen is D2S.

NightBreakers + Avenger coil. Best mod for a P200 or even P180/P150.

I too have experienced this. Its the focus that matters alot.

In HIDs, anything more than 6000K, besides looking ultra-cool, is almost useless in Indian conditions. When I say Indian conditions, I mean riding in rain, fog, behind a smoking bus/tractor/truck, freshly tarred roads.

I am using nightbreakers, and yes, they are good in low beam. but the moment i switches over to high beam, "visibilty" gets lower! although the reach of beam of nightbreakers is much farther and more focussed than normal halogens, but one cannot see things as they are supposed to be! but yeah, i love them!
