  • Which Engine oil is Best For Apache RTR 160 4v

Hi guys, I need to change the engine oil of my bike. It has done around 2,400 km. Right now I am using TVS TRU4 Synthetic 10W 30. I am going to my third service of my bike in few days. Can you please suggest the best engine oil for my bike?

    I shortlisted:

    1. Motul 7100 Ester 4T Fully Synthetic 10W-40
    2. Castrol POWER1 4T 10W-30
    3. Castrol POWER1 4T 10W-40

Guys I am confused just in the 10W-30 and 10W-40 because according to TVS they recommend 10W-30 for apache RTR 160 4V.

    Any Suggestion?

    Thanks.

Stick to company recommend engine oil till you have ended your free services.

If you have no issues related to engine heating or your driving range is lower then you stick with 10w30 grade but its always safer to opt 10w40 grade for engine protection, but stick with company oil for now.

Now coming to your shortlisted engine oils,
Note, Motul 7100 10w40 is fully synthetic engine oil, wheres Castrol Power 1 4T 10w30 & 10w40 are Semi-Synthetic, Castrol India sells Fully Synthetic in 10w50 grade (Power1 Racing).

but there is a lot of vibrations in my bike near the rider seat potion and also in the tank and rider foot pad and i feel vibration in traffic and also when i reach 40 km speed or we say i feel vibration when the RPM touch 4000 any solution for that and i took the bike to the service center many time but they did not do any think the service center guys always say the bike is ok. thats the reason i think the motul 10w40 did reduce some engine vibration or is there any other problem in my bike, i did check the chain it is also ok. any solution for this problem bro because when i purchased the bike there is no vibration at all even the bike reach 90 kmph speed. this vibration problem start after the second service. when i took the bike to the second service the says there is a problem in my engine so they change the engine head block piston and crank shaft and after that the vibration problem start.

I need help bro for this vibration problem Plz help.

        Thanks.

Was there any issues prior to 2nd service?
What was your odo reading when you had given your motorcycle for 2nd service?
Because changing parts in new motorcycle sounds fishy. [emoji53]
Get back to your svc and get those engine mounts checked along with tappet settings, plus shoot a mail at tvs, as your motorcycle would be in warranty so they should fix it at free of cost.

Anything synthetic or semi synthetic are fine. But during summers it's best to use 10-40 /20-50 /10-50 grade and at winters 10-30/10-40...

MOBIL1, MOTUL, CASTROL, SHELL are some of the best brands suitable to use !!!!

*Make sure that you are changing the oil in correct time intervals. Ex: if synthetic it can lasts around 4000 kms and semi synthetic can last for 2500 kms.

*And don't ever opt for cheap and poor quality oils!!!

Engine oil won't stop all your problems. And since you have recently got the engine parts replaced, your engine is like new and will be hot and noisy for some time.

My suggestion would be try running your motorcycle as one does during break-in-period (1000-2000 kms), then do an oil change and see if vibrations has gone. Imo your issue may be due to new parts.
Still I am confused why your motorcycle needed parts change at 780 kms [emoji853]

Btw were parts, changed under warranty or you were charged? Also if your issue is not solved then I would suggest to mail TVS or check on other svc.

Don't rev or drive at high rpm, let parts settle, also change oil at intervals, for info check your motorcycle's maintenance schedule.
Regarding oil, since you have completed 2500-3000 kms since parts were change then use either company oil or use semi-synthetic oil be it Castrol Power 10w40 or Shell AX7.

Thanks a lot bro for reply there is a tik tik sound coming from my bike engine heat after the engine heat so i checked with the service center those guys told me that the sound is not from the tappet so that is the reason he replace the part now the engine sound is gone totally even i run the bike at 100 kmph with pillion
and yes all the parts are changed under warranty i did not pay anything for that.

and i already escalate an email to TVS now for the i receive the call from tvs today so i took my bike to SVC now i feel vibration with pillion after 4000 rpm a little bit and alone it is fine till 7000 RPM after that i feel a vibration little is it fine?

and also bro tomorrow i need to go to out of town around 200 km did i go with the bike is it ok for the bike?
and if yes how much RPM should i maintain on 5th gear and how much speed i can run continuously and how much long?
