[Help]: ZMA Mileage

As mentioned in my earlier post. I said I will do a "reserve-to-reserve" run. My tank finally went to reserve yesterday. While coming back from office, my bike went phut-phut-phut and stopped. I turned the knob to reserve, reset the trip meter and start the engine. I ran exactly 28.00 kms to reach the petrol pump. I filled 10.6 litres (Rs.500). It may take about a week for my bike to go to reserve again. I'll report then.

Wow, a mileage of 50 is kind of awesome to say the least
Anyway as it turns out the mileage I got on my bike wasnt too low either, i ran a total of 530 kms on 13 litres before going into reserve - so that makes it an average of close to 41 which is fine before the first servicing.. anything close to 40 and I am a happy man

For some perspective. Anyone interested can refer back to page 3 where I posted that I will be doing a reserve-to reserve test. Here I am. My bike finally went ro reserve today. The last time, I have reset the trip meter when it went to reserve. Filled 10.6 litres for Rs. 500. Today when it went to reserve, the trip meter at that point read 570.8 kms.
My bike has done 2.3 k. Everything is stock.
I used Bharat Petroleum Speed.
Engine Oil is HH Tide Water 10W30.
Daily running to and fro from office of approx 66 kms (30% city - 70% highway)
Mileage 570.8/10.6 = 53.84 kmpl
I never ripped during the run. Okay, hit 80 kmph 2 or 3 times for short duration (not exactly ripping). Mostly kept speed at 55 - 65 kmph. Change gears at 4k rpm. I can perhaps squeeze some more kilometers if I really try.
To begin with, I never chose ZMA for mileage. I was expecting some 40 kmpl with steady riding. Well, Im not complaining.
I stated earlier that the last time I measured mileage from fuel gauge blinking-to-blinking. It returned approx 50 kmpl.
I expect to get 45 kmpl from now onwards as I will be increasing my speed. Frankly I am surprised how some guys are returning as low as 25-27 kmpl. Maybe they are redlining the whole time.
Hey, I hope those HH guys did not plonk a 150 cc on my ZMA.

Fuel gauge blinking to fuel gauge blinking wont give u accurate readings.
Reset the tripmeter as soon as u hit reserve,fill in a certain amount of petrol,note down the no of kms when it again hits reserve and then divide it by the number of litres filled. Simple
When everything comes ur way, u r in the wrong way ;)

Result = 53.84 kmpl.
I reset the trip meter when my bike went to reserve and came to a halt.
I think the comment "The last time, I have..." confused you. What I meant was that I reset the trip meter when it went to reserve a week ago. I filled 10.6 litres and today when the bike went to reserve again. The trip meter was reading 570.8 kms. Hope this clears up.
I also did did blibking-to-blinking earlier (before LAST TIME
i.e. two weeks ago). Result = 50.47 kmpl

Most people suggest sticking to HH oil for ZMA, especially when its new. I got mine from the service center itself. Mine has done only 2.3 k. No secret. I just take my own sweet time getting off the green lights. Believe me, I'm almost always the last while others are zooming pass me. To conserve fuel, don't accelerate hard. Other being maintaining 55 - 65 kmph. Oh yes, Since I'm new to 2 wheelers. I was quiet surprised by how much wind can effect your ride (aerodynamic). The wind can easily make a difference of 10 kmph with the same amount of throttle (@ 55-65kmph). I have noticed when coming back from office, there is more wind resistance than while going, so I use this to my advantage and will hit 70 kmph sometimes when wind resistance is least. . I know its a pain in the ass. I think if I crouch and cut wind resistance, I may even get better mileage. But no way I am going to do that. Imagine, With Helmet and glove, crouching low in racing style and doing 60 kmph in highway
. Hell no way.

Guess there is some prob with my zma..just doesnt slow down

...Hey, you need to disable the rev limiter that prevents the bike from reving below certain rpm. Here's a Tip. It's not in the bike

Ok Fine, I'll tell you the secret. Just access your brain. Go to program files>Performance>Options. There you will find "Sports Mode". Just disabled it. Click save and exit

I tried accessing the sports mode and changing it to commuter,but i got the following error:-
"Access Denied
Your revving system may have been corrupted. Please reinstall again with a 125cc bike if you want to run commuter mode. 

"
What to do now
