  • Bike runs very smoothly after getting wet!

    Hi guys,

So I own a pulsar 200 NS 2012 edition, and over the years the bike has become very rugged and when I ride it, it feels like something is resisting the bike to run as smoothly as it used to earlier. I've done proper servicing with proper chain lubes and all, even the chain assembly is new.

However when the motorbike gets wet after heavy rain, or gets wet after a machine wash, the riding smoothness becomes fantastic. Not only does the engine feels smoother the wheels roll like butter. As if now there is nothing that's holding the bike from going forward.

My question is, if I need to get this smoothness back, which parts do i need to replace or fix?

I think by mistakenly some mechanic has poured wrong grade of engine oil in your bike. Pour oil of recommended grade and share your observations.

Don't think it's anything to do with the engine oil. The monsoon effect is probably due to reduced friction of external moving parts somewhere. Probably needs lubing, or change of wheel bearings, cone bearings.

And how does your logic relate to the rains?

Or is it that train water is getting mixed with engine oil?

Check the disc brake and rear drum brake, make sure the tyres rotate freely. You haven't told which engine oil you are using. I will suggest to use MOTUL 7100 10w 50 fully synthetic engine oil.
