  • Upgrading 96 model Yamaha RX 100 to 5 speed PR 6 speed

Hello folks, I own an RX 100 96 model. Is it possible to add 5 or 6 speed gearbox for RX 100. If yes what difference will it make on mileage, top speed pickup, comfort on 80 km +. I regularly commute on highway on my 100. Earlier i used to commute in my RX 135 and I was comfortable to cruise between 90 to 105, however I had to sell of. I am not getting the same comfort in my RX 100. Any advice would be appreciated.

      1) The 5 speed gearbox in a basic sense adds a more softer gear as a 4th gear [ the complicated explaination would be the gear ratios and the final output] if you ever felt that in a 4 speed gearbox, that the there was a large gap between the the 3rd and 4th, the 5 speed adds a gear in the middle.

      2) it is possible the casing inside is same for 4 speeds and 5 speeds the only addition would be the gear shifter fork, [ which sits inside the engine and shifts gears when you use the lever] ask your mechanic on it.
