Recently I serviced my scooty he cleaned carb, air filter and changed oil. Next day morning it took half hour of kicks and selfs to start. Following days it too the same time to start.
After some day I drained all my battery and tired of kicking but it didn't start. I noticed that carb is leaking some petrol while it's running. So I decided to troubleshoot it. I opened carb and cleaned it myself. Fitted all stuffs back but again It refused to start. I tried altering A/F ratio setting but it didn't start.
After some searching I found the culprit. Actually there is no problem with engine or carburetor. Actual problem is with fuel delivery.
There's a pipe connected from intake manifold to fuel tank (pipe 1). What it does is when you crank the engine it creates low pressure in intake and in that pipe 1 too. This suction activates a valve and delivers fuel to the carburetor from pipe 2. I opened pipe 2 and cranked the engine but it was delivering very less fuel. When sucked pipe 1 with mouth then lots of fuel came out. There's a very small pin hole where pipe 1 connects so it doesn't create much vacuum so it open that valve a little bit that's why it takes too much time to deliver sufficient amount of fuel and consequently too much time to start.
Every morning I have to suck pipe 1 and press the self start. Engine starts easily then I connect back it to its place. It's so wired process.
One thing I could do is to open the fuel tank valve and do some jugad to keep the valve always open but problem here is the carb leaks some fuel.
What should I do? Any suggestions?
