  • Pulsar 125 neon rpm and throttle response issue

I bought a Bajaj Pulsar 125 neon 3 weeks back. Since the 1st week, I'm having an issue of bad throttle response and jerk in the engine whenever it starts if the engine is not hot.
It starts at 800-1000 rpm and even after keeping it idle for 20 seconds when I put the 1st gear it just doesn't accelerate smoothly and feel like choking. If somehow I try to run it for 1-2 kilometers it starts to run well but the initial problem takes my 15 minutes in the whole starting process. The bike shows this choking and lag till 4000 rpm on meter and it fluctuates too.
I need help! Please suggest me a solution. I feel sad since it's a new bike and I'm worried that this problem may never get solved.

What is your idling rpm? Coz usually it's 1.5k+ on other Pulsars in hot condition.

The bike rpm needle is not fixed and it fluctuates when the bike feel choking itself. The acceleration is not smooth even after riding for 3 odd kilometers

          Check these things:
          1. There might be water inside tank.
          2. Clean carburetor.

          This might solve your problem.

Re: Pulsar 125 neon rpm and throttle response issue

I got it serviced (1st service at 290km on odo) last week. The initial cold start problem still persists but it gets solved after i use choke for 8-10 seconds.

The jerk and rpm response has improved now and the acceleration is smooth now.

[emoji724]Only one issue i think has not been solved , that is the engine heating in a short rides of 4 kms and the initial Rpm which is kept at 1000-1200 when I start after choke jumps to 2400-3000 range when I stop.....!???

Kindly suggest me what may be the issue or is it natural ....Click image for larger version

Don't worry it's natural, after 1000 kilometres everything will be fine.

Tappets might be tight. But don't worry since it hasn't completed break-in period issues will arise. Tell the same thing in your next service. They will solve it.
