  • Fz v2 tyre upgrading to 140/70

Guys this is regarding Yamaha fz v2. I've been using it for almost 5 years now. I changed my tyres to Michelin 140/70 (rear) when my bike clocked around 26,000 kms. Now it's 60,000kms and I've started getting issues.

I took my bike to the Yamaha service center and they are saying that the shock absorber is gone, along with drive axil and the chain and socket also need to be replaced. They are blaming everything on the upgraded tyre. Is it true? Should I change back to the stock 140/60? Please help.

Showroom gave an estimate of INR 15,000.

Upgrading tyre doesn't effect much on your shock absorber. It depends on the road conditions. My suggestion is to go back to 140/60. It seems like your gear axle threads got damaged. This is due to poor quality of spare parts from Yamaha. We can't do anything with it.
