  • Dominar 400 Pressurized Air Coming Out of fuel Tank When Opening Cap

    Hello guys,

Recently(a few days) whenever I go to the gas station while opening up the fuel tank cap, pressurized air coming out from the fuel tank. Today, when I tried to fill up the petrol, a little loud noise of air coming out of the tank.

    1. What causes this kind of thing?

    2. Is this a normal or a serious issue?

Please help me to find the solution, guys.

    Topic Approved.

Do you mean whistling kind of sound? I believe this is nothing to be worried about. I've had 3 bikes and they've exhibited such sounds from the fuel tank cap, at times. Mostly, I ignored them and nothing untoward happened related to this.

It could be due to vaccum, or inefficient seal of the cap itself, or due to fuel flowing towards the fuel system (Fi/ Carb) itself.

This is normal post BS4 bikes.
Since the fuel vapour in tank is now routed through EVAP system.
Nothing but just a charcoal canister which filters out UBHC and filtered gases goes to the inlet manifold.
So the tank is no more a breathable container.

To have a peace of mind get all the breather EVAP assy. Hoses inspected.
      Pinched hoses may create issues.

      Happy motoring...

Guys, I figured it out. The culprit of the problem was with the EVAP rubber tube. It was completely folded under the air filter pipe. After I fixed that, the problem resolved. Thank you for your concern on my thread.
