  • I want to increase the performance of my AX100

Hi friends, Can u suggest me the ways to increase the power of AX100?

My expectation is to have a top speed of 120 km/hr or at least 110. Some people told me to resort to porting, boring and changing stock carb to RX carb. I have seen in a YouTube video that a shogun cylinder head can be fixed in Samurai. These are the ideas I have till now. Any new ideas are welcome.

    Thanks

      1) Lose weight, these are old bikes over time the performance will naturally decrease with the wear and tear of parts. Get rid of the flab, be fit be fast.

      2) Do not change the major parts of the bike, as of point one there is no telling what would/could happen if you use parts of other bikes, at best it would work at worst it will explode and cost you more.

      3) There are lots of spares running around aliexpress and other chinese sites under AX 100, if possible search for racing parts, changing the stock reed with a fiber reed could give you the extra grunt.

      4) Experiment with the carb, refer to point 3, a carb in a very basic sense is a funnel between the engine and the petrol tank/airbox. As like a funnel there is some delay on the petrol/air side as it has to tumble and squeeze through the narrow side to reach the engine which depends on the engine vaccum pressure. You could get a smaller carb ( eg if the stock carb is 22mm use a 19mm carb) to increase the flow rate i.e if you use a straw to drink, the drink moves faster with less pressure in the mouth. BUT make sure you use the stock jets or suitable jets, otherwise a lean mixure would ruin the engine

      5) On porting refer to point 3 and 4, always have extras so that in case the experiment goes wrong you can keep the bike running, suggestion, do not experiment on the original parts, use the purchased parts. Remeber that increasing the port size could potentially reduce inflow pressure, as with the straw example, using a larger diameter straw would require more pressure than a narrow one. Conversely larger diameters would allow for more volume to flow in. So it is a balance between how fast you want the inflow to the engine v how much volume you want.
