  • [Photo Feature]: Engine Oil Issue with Bajaj Dominar 2018

Alright, this is a bit complicated, and I may have messed up, but I need help.

I recently changed the engine oil at a mechanic, put Motul 7100 10w50. When I was cleaning my chain, I noticed that the engine oil level was too low. I thought the mechanic may have messed up and not filled enough as per the manual, i.e., 1.5l.

So, I filled it up by about 200 ml, and rode the bike for about 50 km. I noticed the bike was feeling stressed and louder. I checked online on some forums and realized that this is a common issue with Dominar to show low oil, and I was, in fact, running the right amount of oil.

I drained the oil and put in about 1.3 l back since the air filter would already have a bit of engine oil there.

My issue is, now the engine oil is foaming up.

So far, I haven't seen any leaks near the gaskets, nor there is any smoke coming out of the exhaust. Even the coolant level hasn't gone down. I also thought it must've been condensation, so I rode the bike for 100 km to make the engine hot enough. Still the bubbles are there.

Is the oil gone bad? Or is it something worse? Should I just change the oil and move on?

I went to the SVC and he said something about voiding the warranty, so yes, I messed up big time. They have told me they will get back to me soon, but I hig

This is my first post here, so I apologize if I have broken any rule. Thank you!!

True, the bike must be upright else there is no oil in the inspection window. Foaming is alright and the oil colour looks good. To check for blow-by remove a sparkplug and check if it is fouled with oil. Else ask the SVC guys to perform a compression test. Since there is no smoke or bust seals, continue with the current level of oil.
Next time tell someone to sit on the bike and hold it upright while checking the oil level.
