  • Regarding RC book of my bike

Hello, to whosoever is reading this post.

I own this beautiful machine, Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350cc Twinspark 2011 model which I bought it from a person in Mumbai as a used bike. I also live in Mumbai.

So, I bought this bike from him in January 2020 and as he is the first owner, the papers like insurance, RC, receipt are all valid. After the purchase, I gave my RC book to the RTO agent and submitted the necessary documents for transfer of ownership. He gave me a RECEIPT of submission printed online.

My question is can I take the bike for a ride outside the city, without having the RC with me? I have the PUC, the INSURANCE and other documents which the owner gave me.

As we know in Mumbai, cops are very good at harassing bikers. Even with proper documents they will try to con you with something or the other citing rules and regulations. I don't want to get into trouble.

It is an offense to drive a vehicle without all the necessary documents (RC, Driving license, Insurance & PUC). If the cops are in the mood to be strict they can impose a substantial amount of penalty on you.

If you absolutely have to travel due to an emergency, I would recommend carrying copies of the old RC and other documents indicating the sale of the vehicle & nature of your emergency.

download the RC in digital locker or m parivahan app.there is no rule that says only owner can ride or drive the vehicle.
