    Smoke coming from inside the bike's engine

    Hello Guys,

    I have a Royal Enfield Thunderbird TwinSpark 2011. I had not started the bike since more then 15 days due to heavy rainfall in Mumbai, because Enfields are known for their rust issues during this season of the year.

    So today, I started my bike and after 5 mins of running in idle some smoke started coming out from the engine. I have shown the area in the image below. Also, when the engine is on idle it makes a TAPPET sound.

    I don't know what is the problem and as it might harmful for the engine, the best I can do is not to start it again .

    I have searched online and couldn't find anything. Your suggestions are appreciated. Also, I stay in south Mumbai so if anyone can guide me to a RE mechanic, I will be thankful.

      Seems like an exhaust leak from the header pipe.

        i thought the same thing , it's not that harmful to the engine , i can start the engine and ride it to the mechanic ?

          If it's from the header then I don't think there would be any issue.

            Change the gasket near exhaust head and for tappet sound, you need to open rocker covers and check the hydraulics using screwdriver and there should not be any play.

              ok ...
              the motorcycle is working just great now . i had showen it to a proper person who works on RE motorcycles
              he told me that engine oil and water got mixed inside and because of that it was emitting smoke , if i would have kept the engine running for long time it would have damaged my motorcycle .
              so the solution is remove the mixtures of oil and water from inside . basically he did a proper service of motorcycle
              and so in future if anybody faces such issues . they can find out here in this post
