  • Empty coolant tank

Hello guys, I own a BS-3 '16 model RC390. My coolant tank has no coolant inside. Being a KTM the first thing to look for would be coolant mixing after having a such a problem right? But then, the engine oil shows no sign of mixing and the exhaust doesn't give white smoke either. What am I supposed to do now?

The bike has just run 16K Kms and it was regularly serviced. The bike showed the same problem at the beginning of this year and I changed the water pump seal and oil seal, just after two months of riding the coolant in the reservoir has disappeared. I use Liqui Moly10w40 with Motul Motocool. I do not personally think this is coolant mixing as the bike has never overheated and the engine temperature levels were always within the recommended limits no matter how far I have gone with it.

Can someone help me with this?

      Re: Empty coolant tank

When coolant mix with engine oil it get combusted and vehicle leave hugh amount of white smoke and due to rise in oil level due to mix of coolant, oil pressure exceeds beyond limit which leads to oil leak. when you drain the oil it can easily seen that oil colour is different as in case of coolant mix.
But as you says this is not the case. Here might be reasons

      1. Antifreeze (Coolant) mixing with water is not in 50:50 proportion, read how to use sticker backside of the bottle for correct information.

2.Leak in cooling System/ Circuit, in case of small leak vacuum test which requires special tool need to done.

Above two is only reason for such problem if in case duplicate coolant can also cause the same
      Problem.

This is some engine oil collected now, as i mentioned earlier I use liquimoly 10w40 street race along with motul motocool which has a yellow colour.
