  • Honda CBR 250R rusting everywhere

    Urgent Suggestions Required

My CBR 250R tricolor has been sitting idle since last 6 months due to lockdown and I can see rust almost everywhere

What should I do to remove it or prevent it?

Should I replace the parts rusted or should I remove the rust and paint it or apply anything else to prevent it from rusting?

See images for proper understanding @psr Ji please suggest something

i think this is why they recommend to wash, wax and lube your bike and also cover it properly before you are planning to keep it idle for long term.

bike is such a vehicle that has probably most of the components exposed to the environment, and if you love your bike then i would say invest your day on it by washing, waxing, etc all those stuff and it won't hurt you to fire it up for like 5-10min occasionally for good battery life.

I do fire it up every 3 days for 15 minutes
The problem is with the rust as the bike was parked for long time and no shed for parking it was exposed to sun and rains

Will do that once the rust removal process is completed

Rusting is common in sea coastal areas but it look like you have not washed the bike before leaving it untouched for 6 months which caused the rusting problem way above limits. Is all switches and locks working properly, engine is running smoothly and bike running properly.
