  • Vibrations in handlebars and footpegs R15 v3

    I need your help guys.
I am a proud owner of V3 and I bought this bike in the year 2018 (October) and it’s almost been 2 years since I have bought the bike. I have this issue from a very long time and couldn’t find any resolution from any source. Kindly help!

My bike has just clocked 10,090kms and I don’t really ride my bike almost everyday but the bike is in good condition and everything is in place apart from the vibrations I get from the handlebars and footpegs while I am revving the bike to 5-6k RPM in first and second gear.

This has been a constant issue since the time I started keeping my bike idle for a long time. However, I make sure that my bike is well maintained like I make sure the chain is lubed on time, oil is changed after every interval but here’s a catch; I first used Yamalube, Motul and now Liqui Moly but I make sure that I flush the old oil properly in order to get the new oil in.

I went to the Yamaha service centre where the service told me that the issue is resolved and it actually made a change. The vibrations had gone and also the exhaust sounds pretty different and rough as compared to other R15 and when this motorcycle was new.

My bike still looks new and I have done almost everything to keep the bike maintained.

Can somebody please help me with this issue?

Also can anyone suggest me a oil which I can continue with in future?

Please help me as any problem with my motorcycle takes away my sleep. Kindly help bikers.

So they fixed your vibrations issue but a new problem crept up of rough sounding exhaust. A cold engine will sound bassy and smooth while accelerating and become grunty once the bike is very hot. Are you confusing grunty with rough? Engine oil can have effect on how the exhaust sounds and how does the bike rev. For example, Pulsars on Bajaj oil sound very grunty and exhaust becomes bassy while on other oils engine is muted somewhat but revs very linearly.

I'd suggest you stick with Motul oils and liqui moly engine oils fade after 1000/1200kms. They don't need to be changed but they stop acting like a FS oil and feel like minerals. If you wanna experiment and have the money, try amsoil engine oils.

Hey bud thanks for your response,

Yes the engine is more of grunty and bassy at the same time what I mean here is other bikes feel smoother while revving and the my bike sounds a bit weird and there are vibrations kn the handlebars and the footpegs so I am what I am really concerned is that if it affects my engine.
The yamaha guys had fixed the vibrations and the exhaust sound as well but didn’t really tell what did he do to make it work as usual.

I will surely stick around with Motul as I was using. Liqui moly gives me good experience while the oil is at the optimum temperature.
Is it okay if I use 10W50 Motul 7100 for my bike and continue with it in the future?

Also to add in here, the Yamaha guys fixed the vibrations problem but now that’s back and what I have noticed is that if the bike is moving it feels normal while revving but after this lockdown when I serviced my bike and was lying in the building compound the bike was again like it was vibrating previously and the vibrations goes along with the grunty sounding exhaust and i do agree that Yamaha’s do sound grunty and R15 v3 is definitely grunty in the higher rev range but when it comes to riding my bike the experience is pretty different from others most of my friends they own the same bike and theirs sounds very smooth and soothing to ears but mine is pretty bad its really like something is rattling around the bike and the engine sound is pretty weird like mentioned as rough. Last time when I serviced my bike was in june and now in September.

Even if i in change the oil the problem will persist also to mention here when I gave the bike to Yamaha guys and asked them to resolve the problem they just said we made a minor changes like setting the clutch and all but never disclosed what setting they did.

So i really need with this

          Somebody please help me
