  • Looking for fork bend removal in Pune

My front USD forks has been feeling hard since I recently had an accident. After getting them serviced and the oil & seals changed, it was better for sometime. But after one particularly hard jump, the stiffness has returned.

This makes me believe there is a bend at the end of suspension travel. There is no oil leakage nor does the bike pull to left/right when handle is released.

I want to know shops/mechanics around Pune who will overhaul USD forks and straighten them.

    Thanks.

Suspension stiffness is majorly due to wrong hydraulic oil grade (higher grade oil used) or excess oil filled into the forks, both of which you have not mentioned nor accident details and repair or replace done after it. Please share the details

Vishal Wagh rightly pointed out that it's not a case of fork bend.

A fork never bends inside the suspension, there's not enough space for it laterally to do so. IF a fork bends, it bends somewhere in the middle, outside the suspension. Bent forks always present as a pulling feel towards left or right, higher the degree of bend, more violently it will pull to one side. And even company SVC don't remove the bends themselves, they remove the fork and take it to a lathe machining shop for bend removal, even local mechanics do the exact same.

The accident damage must have been severe, a simple oil & seal change was insufficient as a repair. I would suggest to take the bike to the authorized SVC and let them completely disassemble the suspension to diagnose the fault. If they suggest replacing major/expensive parts I believe you should do so.
