  • Problem wit electricals on std350.

    hi..
i hope i m posting this in the proper section
I have a '75 Std 350 just recently Engine has been done up.
The problem im facin is of the electricals the Battery is new and has excess sulphur deposits on them its a SF battery and the electricals are 12V .
Wen ever i switch on the headlamp the ammeter needle goes in minus even while runnin at speeds of 70kmph.

if the Pilot Lights are ON the ammeter needle stays in the middle..
and witout lights its in the positive half but not too much.wat is the problem over hear? the head lamp is the stock 35w headlamp. the mech said i shud replace the existing coil with some 4 coil system and redo the entire wiring as its old and it will cost 3000/- does this make sense?
a frnd of mine suggested that i shud convert the electricals to TCI or CDI.. is this viable? if yes
ne idea hw much it will cost me in bombay.
    thnx in advance
    Regards.
