  • [Help]: Query related to RE Bullet

    Hi All,

My RE Bullet std. is about 1 month old and have completed 800 kms till now. I am also done with the 1st service.

From that day my bullet has been facing a problem(i think). Problem started from the day when mechanic started my bike and i dont know which screw he tightened up or loose. My bike was idle and suddenly voice became reduced. I thought race was a bit more that is why bullet was making more voice when it used to be on idle start.

But now a days while driving whenever i reduce the throttle at high speed(like while driving at 50 kmph if i reduce the throttle to reduce the speed) and don't use the clutch sound comes from the silencer digg digg digg even after throttle is closed. And now a days i have to change the gears more frequently. I never used to reduce gear to 3rd from 4th even when speed drops to 35 Kmph. My bull used to pick up and never nocked. But now a days even at the speed of 38 Kmph i have to reduce the gear from 4th to 3rd.

I think some thing is wrong with my bike.

I showed it up to some other mechanic in my area he told me that race is not less and petrol mixture level is fine as well.

Can some 1 tell me if something wrong with my bullet?

    Manpreet Singh

          Hi Manpreet,

You've to be little more clear with the issue. Reposting in other forums alone doesn't help much because most of the members here are the same active members of other forums too.

I'm also new to bullets, but it looks like yours is a simple problem. Did the mechanic decrease the idling? Does your bike stay on in neutral without a need for revving? I guess you were used to increased idling in your bike and now you find it difficult to settle for less!

Ask your mechanic to increase the idling a little and see if that helps.

Yes, may be idling is low. I also noticed that sometimes while riding, my bullet starts reacting like petrol has finished (it starts nocking) but when i check the tank then there is optimum amount of petrol is there. What could be the reason.

P.S. I can be little careless about my bullet by ignoring these things but it was my dream to own a bullet and i love my bullet so much that i am not able to ignore these things. I want to keep it life long and this is the reason i want my bullet should be in Tip-Top condition.

There might be some issues with the petrol flow. Os is your bike running too lean? Since it's a new bike, i guess the problem is with tuning only. Take it to another mechanic and ask him to tune the carburetor.

                HI Manpreet,
Since you have a Standard Bullet the ignition is probably a points type. When you are getting your carburetor serviced, make sure that you ask the mechanic to set up your points correctly too. This may resolve your issue. Also, rather than riding at high speeds what happens if you race the engine on neutral and leave, does it still race after you've left the throttle?
                Regards,

                  the idling is the problem
paaji dont let mechs fiddle with your carburetor until they know how to do it

the idling is set lower than required
dont delay for your next service
it harms the engine and spark plug

set it to an adequate level
Hope is a good thing ,

                      @ Desi

Thanks veere, You can send me your number. Even if you are busy you can send me the mechanic's number and location whom you trust upon.

I have shown my bike to 2 most knowledgable mechanics in my area. During 1st service that service centre's guy didn't work on carburator and point. He just worked on tappets then cleaned airfirlter, changed oil filter, took out old oil and replace it with the fresh oil and tightened up the breaks. I am thinking at 1000 kms(which i will be compliting this week) i will change the oil once again and for that i will take my bike to a very good mechanic in delhi for check up.

What do you suggest desi paaji?
