Query Approved.

A) check if the battery charger circuit is working fine.
B) if there is any short circuit, thats draining the battery, maybe near the switchgears !!
C) get the battery charged at some good battery store, no need to take it to the ASC. It shud take a cupl of hrs !!

In case the battery drains again, get it replaced !

Well havent heard about this issue from other bikers who own FZ good for them isnt it....

IMO go to the service center and get your battery, coil, wirings checked thoroughly and if you are in warranty period u may get it replaced free of cost....but dont boil your blood...all the machinery whether its a toy car or a Mig 21 have some glitch..so relax and get things done under your supervision brother and see that you get it rectified with a good mechanic alright....

i have a 8month old FZ..no issues till now..since your battery is in warranty period try to get it replaced..i think a recharged battery wont hold its charge for a long time like a new one..cells must have been gone..my advice is 'dont recharge/repair your battery, its charge wont last long..get a new one'.

he didn't mention that the battery went kaput.
It just got drained.
FZ has battery run DC headlights right?
So keeping the headlights ON when the engine's off can drain a 9 ah battery in almost an hour.
When you push start the bike, do the headlights glow perfectly? Does the Horn sound normal?If these two things are alright, then the battery is just fine and is getting charged properly.But if the horn sounds feeble or headlight glows dull, then the battery output is less which implies that either the battery is damaged or is not getting charged correctly.


If there's a problem in the charging circuit [the coil that is] then the battery gets just drained and not charged.

Do you have any knowledge about electrical circuits? Can you use a multimeter?

If yes, you can narrow the problem down by this technique: Check the voltage at the terminals of the battery when the engine is off and the headlight and other such loads are off.If you get a reading of around 12V, the battery is fine, there's some problem with the starter.If battery shows very low voltage then probably its not getting charged properly or has gone kaput[which is not quite possible for a 7 month old battery].


To check the charging circuit,
Now disconnect the cables connecting to the battery. Push start the bike. shift down to neutral, check the voltage at the cables which used to connect to the battery.If you see a reading of about 13.8V or greater, then the charging circuit is working just fine.
If not then there's a problem with the alternator coil/charging circuit.

If you find the battery showing a low voltage, get it charged from a local inverter walla /electrician who deals in batteries too/mechanic. It is a matter of just 4 to 5 hours.Install the charged battery and see if the problem persists.If it does, analyse as I told you and report to the SS

When you narrow the problem down the SS guys can't take you for a ride. They'll realise that you aint no idiot to take for a ride and they'll work better. You save the time required to get your bike back. You tell them to replace just the right part, they replace it and Voila, your bike is back to normal!If the problem is not narrowed down by you, they have to test each and every component, use their idiotic brains to find a solution and also find a solution to non existent problems!!

Get all the faulty parts[if any]replaced Under warranty itself.Don't pay a single penny.
