  • Tappets/Clutch/Exaust/Piston or all??

my bike is running very rough for the past few months and once above the 7k mark the engine feel like loose junk...when off gear it sounds normal like any other pulsar with the slight timing chain and tappet noise..

ive narrowed down a few possibilities

can incorrectly adjusted/loose tappets cause the bike to over heat and feel rough and strained?(a mech told me this)

my dads mech said the the piston is rubbing too much aginst the walls of the bore so the engine is rough and ive got to get the block opened(almost 80% sure he's trying to rip me)

can the clutch plates make the bike feel rough and strained...(ps-bike dosent over rev)

my exaust has got holes and something is rattling inside....ignoring the sound also could this be the cause of the roughness...

    other points-

    oil changed two days back

my bike does not over rev and the rpm to speed ratio is correct

    cabr cleaned regularly myself

i know its quite a mixed up qurie but every one says some other reason for the roughness..this has made me confused..

edit - yesterday i noticed a blue glow near the head. on closer inspecton i noticed that when even i rev the bike ther is sparking in between the spark plug cables and the head..
    how to rectfy this?

check your bike if there is any smoke coming out of the exhaust.. white or black smoke.. if that is the case you need to get the engine rebored.. change of piston and rings..
if there is no smoke.. get the tappets and carb tuned by an expert.. also see that the exhaust is not choked..

Sry for bumping this thread ,didnt want to create another thread .

            I got a similar problem on my CT100 .

There's some black smoke coming out of the exhaust . Actually you can't see it , but if i keep my fingers at the tip of the exhaust pipe i can see the black deposits on my fingers .

The mechanic told me its a piston and valve failure . He told me that the new piston would cost Rs.650 . Is it so ?

            Help
