  • Cheaper alternates, (if any) for my p150 ug2

I own a 4 year old dtsi ug2 which has done more than 50,000 kms with sheer aplomb...

Within a month or 2, I would in all probality sell it off and consider an upgradation

In all this consideration, my battery has went dead...

My factory fitted exide served me well for all these years but just couldn't carry on further...!

Is ther any cheaper alternate available in Pune for batteries..?

Since price is a factor, I'd suggest Base Terminal (Panasonic). Amaron is more expensive... but its safest as its sealed.

Just make sure the electrolyte level is not above the MAX mark on the battery. If it is, go to another dealer... or get the dealer to open a new box and prepare one the right way.

Exide, Amco are the worst... you are lucky yours lasted 4 years.. Besides a shorter life, they are prone to leaking.

If you want still cheaper alternative, there are local batterys like Urja, etc. Prices are substantially cheaper. No idea how they perform. Personally, I wouldn't touch them.

Thanks a lot buddy for your kind reply...

If you have any idea, can you give me the price of that panasonic battery...?

Moreover, how much would the locals cost...
          Is the cost difference substantial...?

and where can I get the panasonic one and the locals in pune..?

Try topping up the battery or get it recharged and see if it works.

I looked for my Base Terminal Warranty but can't seem to find it. Else would have given you their address/ph in Poona.

All the batterys I mentioned can be found in Nana Peth. However, I'm not go gaga over that place, so see if you can find them with other dealers first.

Try calling up Base Terminal's toll free no - 1800 1800 007 for dealer info. Also try 9823136524. Try their website too.

When I checked prices about 3ish months back, local brands like Urja cost around Rs. 300 - 350 (6 months warranty, if I recall correctly) and Base Terminal I got for Rs. 600 (after li'l bargaining). Tata Green was about the same price. Amaron was at around 775 (longest warranty). This is for 2.5 Ah batterys. So the differences are substantial.

Just remember what I said about the electrolyte. And yes, you can bargain.

Do let us know what you went in for... esp. if its a local battery. Would be interesting to know how they perform.

Thats the MRP. You should be able to get it for lesser. Just see the price for 2.5 Ah batt. I got it for Rs. 600.

                      Pulsy 150 needs a 9 Ah battery??

So did you buy one yet?

If not, you could consider Speed (by TAFE)... cheapest branded battery I'v come across.
