  • URGENT: Kinetic Comet- Battery : URGENT

    Hi Guys,
A manager in my ODC asked me about his Comet's battery. His friend's Kinetic Comet's battery conked off and he needs to know what battery could be fitted on his comet. He actually asked me what battery the R15 has (and then told me about the comet). So i'm straightaway asking for the comet's battery.
Could anyone throw some light on this? If possible the Current and voltage ratings and maybe a substitute battery like the P220 or Avenger or R15 os something??? and ASAP pls

      The std battery is 12Ah.

Sunils uses the RE battery - seating was an issue and it was to be maintained.
Sumit was using pulsar battery but he didnt like it.
So I went for an imported battery.

may be you can ask him to try the Amron 9AH battery!

        Thanks for the info.
But dont u think the 9Ah battery will have a lot of difference from the 12Ah battery???
        How about the P220's battery?
And if imported, what could i specifically ask him to get?
        any particular brand or model?

A little correction here. I am using Comet's Stock battery currently which I bought from Kinetic guys paying 6k
Importing the battery will be a headache as the weight is too much and you might have to pay the shipping charge more than the battery price itself.

PS: Mods: Just a thought, this thread can be merged into the Comet ownership thread itself.

Even the battery am using is 9Ah I takes the load and I have HID too. I feel Amron should suffice.

But U said ur battery is imported : that mite make a difference.
Sumit made a correction because u said he uses a Pulsar's battery but he says he uses a Kinetics stock battery

So i might as well can ask him to go in for an AMARON 9Ah battery.

well again. he was using and was not satisfied and then we got the stock battery. so I would say dont go for pulsar battery though its 9Ah. The Amron 9Ah is something that we didnt try, but its supposed to be good, so I recommended that.

Battery is from Hyosung only. It has 12V 12Ah
Long back when I was using the Pulsar battery (12v 9ah) I had asked Kinetic about it. Suddenly one fine day they called me up and told that some customer had ordered the battery which he isn't taking now. And I picked up that battery itself. Kinetic people even charged me the shipping and courier charges
Pulsar Battery can be used if the bike's coil and rectifier is working fine. My bikes rectifier/coil wasn't working properly which is why that battery conked off.

Edit: Just to add, if you are using HID and other heavy stuff the pulsar battery might give away.

Thanks for that,,,!!! I guess the bike should be running on stock headlamps.
I will suggest the AMARON 9Ah battery.
Looks like thats the only option right now.

fitting battery with lower Ah rating will drain it faster than its charged...also since ur stock battery was 12 Ah, the charging mechanism is also suited for that rating and nothing less..if u fit a lesser Ah battery, it wud simply explode or give away within no time...battery change is a serious business, not a child's play..bt now that u have a prob, let me suggest..
Take ur old battery to a battery wallah and tell him ur prob..ask him to replicate the plates as they are in the original battery and fit them...i hope that wud work fine.In other words, its called "jugaad"...
If U haven't Seen GOD, U haven't gone fast enough

Hey, wotever u buy. The battery should be cranking battery. Otherwise it won't take load of starter......check the size of the battery and go for Royal Enfield 12V14AmpH battery if it suits comet.
