Traditional thump...UMMMMM
Go for Indore Silncer. But u don't need to change the bend pipe. Now a days Indore silencer comes with long front end.
The initial of that silencer is something starts from VM or VK or something I can tell that tomorrow

if all u want is the classic thump then try getting a goldstar, according to my knowledge......

if you would know there was nothing as such goldstar for a bullet. classic thump is generally off a normal shortbotel exaust be.

go for the laxmi udyog one they are nice i have had it for almost 2 years now working fine.

Get any good quality short bottle silencer, with some baffles in it, it will give you a good thump. The options that you have listed are all good enough, although I had difficulties finding the original Quality product. Karol Bagh in Delhi is home to many such duplicates, & also for Goldstar & they sell because people pay for such fakes. If you cannot find any baffles or anything, then don'tworry, will lt you know a simple method that I tried on my Bullet, & it is going good after many thousands of kilometres. It has made the sound deep & eliminated any treble from it.

Anyways, I had been using the short bottle muffler from Laxmi Udyog, I still have it & is going strong. There is no rust till date although the chrome has started fading at places & doesn't look as neat as the original one now, but man this is after more than 2 years of use.

Desi has earlier used Quality, check with him on those, but I have heard they are good. And hey, just my 2 cents, but don't change the bend pipe, the stock works fine if not better.

getting a good crome job done on the bend and the exaust always helps. i got my bikes bend pipe cromes arount a month back wheni got the bike it was back in 2007 august and the bend still has no signs of any kinda rust. but the original bend is the best only if you like the shape which apperently i dont...

I have heard thar changing bend pipe to a longer one with smaller diameter with short bottle silencer gives a good thump.More over its a hollow bendpipe that is why i am planning to change the bendpipe.

About silencer:- I have heard laxmi udyog silencer's thump. its more kinda torned thump like phatt phatt phatt. I am looking for a typical dugg dugg thump.

I have asked 1 mechanic he told me that you can find original RE short bottle silencer(with baffles) from kashmiri gate. Original's qualities is better and voice is good.

My friend told me to fit 500 cc silencer which has only 2 baffles unlike 3 baffles in any other silencer. It will give good thump.

Hey buddy,

A 500cc silencer will not be a direct fit, & not even the bend pipe as it is larger in diameter. You will have to do some "jugaad" as they say to get it done right & make sure there are no exhaust leaks.

As for the silencer, you could probably try & get to listen to some other engines with different brands of silencers if you get an opportunity, & that will help you decide better.

Also, remember that changing the bend pipe or silencer will affect the dynamics of your bike's engine. For instance, the smaller diameter bend pipe you speak of or the local bend pipes you get at shops (which are more in the shape of what used to come on 500cc CI) will affect the exhaust pulses. Plus that design is known to be less restrictive owing to its design. It may not matter a lot, but in the long run these things do have an effect. It's a lengthy aspect about the exhaust pulses & what they do, but they do some stuff critical for engine tuning & is one of the reasons to have a proper & calculated exhaust system.

So, do consult your trustworthy mechanic as well about changing the bend to something else. It has more effect than just changing the silencer.

@manpreet: You have 3 choices to get that thump -

[1] Buy an Indore silencer with a bend pipe

[2] Buy a Goldstar silencer with a bend pipe

[3] Try and find an old silencer of a STD, 60s - 80s make, that gives a good thump too

lol i am confused now. What should ne an idle combination?

Longer bend pipe + short bottle silencer.

Stock bend pipe(catalytic convertor removed) + short bottle silencer.

Silencer for Electra UCE

I just wanted to check if anyone has got silencer changes to the new UCE. I wanted to try out Rocket or the Gold star on the UCE.

Any thoughts on that?

The best bet is to always find a silencer that would effectively keep your total exhaust length & diameter the same. I hope that answers your question.
