  • Starting Karizma after rain

Hey guys, I am not sure if any of you have this problem. But everytime after it rains, it is very hard to start the Karizma (I just bought it 3 months ago). I mean it takes me several tries on the electric start (atleast 25-30) before the bike will start. Is there any solution to this?? Or I just have to grin and bear it?

      whoa!!!

hey ... i really haven't heard of such a thing happening on the ZMA , i thought HH systems were foolproof , anyways this will sound really stupid but what happened to the kick ? did even that not work ... probably after rains you gotta use the kick first before the ES ... did you try the choke ( another stupid suggestion , I'm sure you already tried this ) but i really don't have any other ideas man ... especially a 3 month old ZMA ... ok here i go again what about the battery , got that checked ?
People ask me , why are you cribbing about the BHP ? to them I say "MORE is never ENOUGH" xbhp.com

Well, its a little weird, its started off in the first try today afternoon... Let me see for a few days, if its working fine, then I can just attribute it to the moodiness of the bike :P

You say you have bought it 3 months back. It cant be attributed to its moodiness bro. Get it checked, It may be small something thats bothering it but it may develop into a major one, so don't take any chance. Go to the SVC and tell them what happens and say that you want it fixed.

Just turn off the key and turn on again and start. See if that works. If not then just open the lead of the tank and close it. Then start. I am sure this is not a major problem.
BTW, also check out the battery for correct water level and voltage.

                  25-30 times.
. .. ...u will screw the battery and eventually drain it completely...Evrey time (twice atleast) is the engine does not crank its adviced to turn of the iginition key and then try again....May be you should try using choke after the rains....

Try that, mostly that would be your problem. Sometimes the drain hole would be blocked causing an air block, and hence no fuel supply to the carb.

this happens with my friend on his pulsar 150 1st edition. usually happens when u run ur bike a lot in reserve fuel cock position.

try keeping sufficient quantity of petrol in ur tank.

turn the fuel cock to OFF when parking ur bike exposed to rains.

try draining fuel from carb drain pipe. better still, get ur carb cleaned from the ASS.

Mine is about 2 months old, starts 1st crank even after rains..although we havent had any major ones yet here in delhi..I would suggest:-
                        1. Pulling the choke and then try cranking it.
                        2. If the above does not work, turn the key off and on and try again. The choke should remain on.
                        3. If 2 also doesnt work, open the fuel cap. Could be a air block. I face this prob many times

On starting leave the choke on for 30 sec, then drive on!
Try this, it def gonna work..zma has one of the best self starter dude.

Happened to my 2 months old ZMA two days back. This was after rain and bike being idle for a whole day. I tried starting about four time. Won't start even with choke. Normally it always starts with first try. I opened & closed the the tank lid and tried again. Voila..First try and it comes alive. This is something I learned here at XBHP . Opening and closing of tank lid never fails when bike refuse to start so far.

                            Zma' solution

Hey dude, in the earlier stage the same thing happened to my Zma also this is due to the insufficient air circulation in the tank cap just shake the vehicle twice then u could hear the air intake from the tank cap else clear the tank cap's hole for better circulation. really this works....
