P.S: Better than Nightbreakers, try using 55W HIDs. Much better illumination!

Instead of using ATM's etc, why not use a proper GPS receiver like GARMIN? It should give u far more accurate info on average speed, distance covered, time etc which cannot be tampered with? Dont the IBA rules allow this? As for ATMs at Puzhal there is only one AXIS BANK ATM AFAIK here - Axis Bank ATM Puzhal|Axis Bank ATM Chennai|Axis Bank ATM Velammal Engineering College, Surapet Contacts on Sulekha. Am not sure if more ATMs are available.
P.S: Better than Nightbreakers, try using 55W HIDs. Much better illumination!Democracy is when 2 wolves and a sheep meet to decide who is for dinner. Liberty is when the sheep has a gun.

Howz the Traffic/Roads from Cholavaram to Pozhal??
Any ATMs in Cholavaram???
We can stop in Cholavaram too as the Required Distance will be completed before cholavaram.
As per our Plan we may reach there between 5-6pm.
Please Let us know if there are any Fuel Pumps which have computerized billing.
We are still looking into Lighting options.
HIDs are still into consideration.sigpic

Roads from Sholavaram to Puzhal are good 2+2 laned NH. In fact it is the same till a round-tana junction(Dont remember its name). But the problem with this highway as a whole especially after Karanodai is the sheer number of trucks and lorries. Also the highway passes thru' villages and lot of shops. So be prepared for traffic. Am not sure of any ATMs at Sholavaram. Will check on the same website if possible. And be prepared to meet up lot of cops. The patrol is quite strict especially for out of state vehicles. Carry all ur original papers etc.Democracy is when 2 wolves and a sheep meet to decide who is for dinner. Liberty is when the sheep has a gun.

In that case we'll stop at Sholavaram only.
I know the road till Nellore is good.
KP told tht the road from Nellore to Chennai is also good.
Now U mentioned tht its better to turn back from Sholavaram.
So, we'll change our end point to Sholavaram.
Hope there is not much traffic from Nellore to Sholavaram.
Also next is the look out for the ATMs, Fuel Pumps in Sholavaram.
Is there any1 who lives near this place???
Who can give us some info??
Please help us out in finding this.
We also need help in getting a witness at the end point.
Some 1 from xBhp if can come there would be great!!!!!
We have all bike Documents.
New vehicles - so no problem with Documents.sigpic

my input
My input abt roads frm vizag-RajhmundryOriginally posted by HydBiker View Postwas planning the same over a month ago. a few inputs from me -
- summer like May is probably the best time for a saddle sore run as the sunlight is available for maximum time and very less chances for rain
I consider the day light and rain to be the biggest problems that slow you down a lot. most other things can be taken care of to a good extent otherwise.
- post 10PM you will get stuck very badly in Chennai if you plan to take the Bangalore Highway from NH5. Before that it is not a hassle.
- Vizag to Chennai is probably the best route you can to all in one long stretch... expect little delays in Vijayawada and the road between Vijayawada & Guntur is a little uneven. Other than this there is concrete road between Anakapalli & Tuni (am I correct with the place names???) that can be irritatingly bumpy and also riding in the dark here isn't as good as on a tar road due to unwanted reflection.
- the whole NH5 has a bad flies' problem durng sun rise and sunset hours
- do not rely on Petrol Pump bills or card payment slips... look out for ATM's. Almost every town or a considerably village on the highway has ATM's.
- I believe you are aware that you have to do A to B and B to A trip and have proofs from the same place at the place A while starting and while ending the trip. May be you pickup a place with two ATM's at your starting point and take slips from both.
- have many more things to write but am feeling tiered... damn this cold! all my energy is lost in sneezing out my running nose!!!
Hydbiker is correct in som aspects.. i had a ride to vizag last week... roads r very good
Trafic is very heavy(19-20 km) wen u r entering the vizag city. harldy u can drive at 70kmph..
Trafic is moderate all the way aftr leaving vizag
but its really hard to find ATM's aftr leaving vizag... But the availbilty petrol pumps is really good...
during my ride it was raining vry heavily all d way frm vizag to rjy.
i felt d road as killer road bcoz of d rain so bettr not to drive wen its raining.
hydbiker is ryt.. derzz a concrete road but only for a short extent of 2 to 3 kms."As long as there's a horizon and I can see it, then I want to know what's there, mentally, physically and visually" - rtwpaul

we planned to enter & exit vizag between 5 to 6 AM so i hope the traffic wont build-up at that time, so we can pass through vizag. i have already PM'd YV Aditya of vizag asking him some inputs about vizag's early morning traffic buildup, but no response yet....Originally posted by chiyaanchinnu View PostMy input abt roads frm vizag-Rajhmundry

and the first proof we'r going to take is at Ravulapalem...some 300 km from vizag after 8-30 AM if we stick to our original time schedule

Guys you are planning n our Mumbai lad, Mr.Cosgeo99 decided last thursday & even completed/achieved/did it last Saturday...

The best way to do it is Bangalore-Pune-Bangalore, GQ, buttersmooth
Anyways, best of luck to you guys, just Ride Safe.
