    [Help]: What modifications can be done on splendor

    hello friends,

    I would like to know your views on what modification can be done on a hero honda splendor Y2K series which can fit perfectly and also mechanics in pune who can carry out this work.

    I am planning for a long bike tour from pune to shimla
    your replies will be appreciated

      Please let us know more about your bike like how many kms have you covered on it, any accidents, etc. A few modifications which you can carry out are changing the tyres, changing the headlight bulb with a brighter one. You can fix panniers and buy a tank bag to carry your luggage. In addition to that, you can invest on proper riding gear like a jacket, gloves, elbow and knee guards.

        invest in a good riding gear . and you can get saddle bags or a tank bag to carry your luggage .

              Why on earth do you want to modify a splendor. It is best in its stock condition. If you want to prepare it for a long tour then that's another case. With preparation i mean tyres and stuff...

                  my bike has covered 120000 kms. i have replaced tyres 3 mths back with a rear one mrf 3.2 and front normal 2.18, i would like to know is it compulsory to go for overhauling as its nt having any problems, also any othe modifications which can help me for a long ride would be appreciated.

                    Post a pic of ur bike......we have a lot of designers and experts who can make ur bike look owsum......

                    100cc or even a 70cc if u have planned to modify....then there are no limits.......

                    So first post some pics.......coz i believe XBHP doesnt have any pics of Splendour in it database......

                      re overhaul: go to any decent mechanic and ask him to do a compression test. if compression is ok, you should be good to go with an air filter clean up plus carb clean up and appropriate jetting for altitude. other things like brakes and stuff of course.

                        There goes your answer. if the compression is okay then no need to rebore. As for other things you can get disc brakes installed, and when you are planning for a long ride keep a few spares handy like a spark plug, a tube, a handpump, cables, and invest in some good riding gears..
