  • can i fit a broad tyre of 3.8 on my splendor

    hi friends,

i have a 3.2 inch tyre fitted on my splendor i am planning to move to a more wider tyre 3.8 .

i would like to know what other modifications are to be taken into consideration

Is there any modification to be done with brakes or front tyre or shocks.

also i would like to know if there are any gud shock absorbers which are better than the normal ones which can fit perfectly and are more sturdier than the normal ones which cm with splendor.

Fitting broader tyres on a splendor is not recommended as it will affect the mileage and the acceleration of the bike. changing to a broader tyre wouldn't bring about a significant change.instead, it will mar it.

You can change the tyre to a wider one.. but just keep in mind that the mileage and the pick-up would come down drastically.. there are no modifications required with brakes and shocks.. just make sure you have a proper size tube to got with the broader tyre

Not splendour - for any bike - even a TVS 50 fit a broader tyre ---- it will look great.......

But for lower CC engine bikes - fitting a broader tyre will make things only for Looks......and you have to compensate on Mileage and Pulling power.....

Let me tell you one things ---- alloys with broader tyre will look more nice.....If ur bike is of spokes - change it to alloys and switch to Broader Tyres.....

            modification for my splendor

            hello friends,

after hearing all your opinions i have planned to install a CEAT SECURA SPORT-3.18*17, as the zapper i found is just for show not for real balancing in wet roads, replacing the head light assembly with splendor plus assembly, also trying for FZ assemlbly if it fits, changing the seat with a new one for comforts, adding additional fog lamps which will run on battery, front tyre to be replaced with a 2.8 mrf tyre.

installing a soft bag big enough to carry 2 litres water bottle, castrol activ 4t engine oil, torch and useful materials.

Also i would like to know if the new anti puncture solution available for normal tyres.

            regards

            Shrinath

Hey wot is this 3.2, 3.8, 2.8 inches man? there are no such tyre sizes for sure. the sizes are like this 2.50/90/18, 2.75/90/18, 3.00/90/18, 3.25[Yezdi 16" & Bullet 19"], 3.50/90/18[RD350, Y350.. very rare size thesedays], 4.00-90-18[MRF Motocross] or else other equivalent sizes like 90/90/18, 100/90/18, 110,120 sizes etc.. these are available in 17" also.. my advice is .. stick to stock sizes.. and avoid problems.. its a splendor.. just a commuter bike

can i change my rear brakes from drum brakes to a disc brakes

Is it possible to change my splendor both front and rear drum brakes to disc brakes and whether fitting a tubeless tyre will make the bike more stable than the ones with tube.

You can change your front drum with a disc.. will surely give you better braking. i believe Splendor itself has disc versions.. just ask @ your HH service centre for the cost factor. A rear disc will be an overkill for sure. You can try fitting tubeless tyres on alloys.. try splendor NXG/ Passion plus alloys.

Hello xbhpians, I am a newbie here and want to share things i know.

Yes, rit... We can change.. But as per HH Authorized Service Center personals, They first say- Its better not to change. Bit if we Insists, They say- yes we can but it will cost more. To fit a disc brake, we need to change to front Tel Hyd Shock Absorbers, Wires, different spoke/alloy rim and modifications in handle bar as well.
this is same with all drums brake bikes..
But if try to fix disc at local shop, he will try to weld for fitting the disc mechanism and fix it. This one is never guaranteed and is bad for rough roads.
