  • [Help]: How to ride with my dog?

    Hey friends,

I would like to know is there any way to train my labrador retriever dog to sit on the tank when i drive my bike balancing himself, so he should not jump off by any sudden breaking or get panick.

I am planning for a trip next month to panchgini on my splendor and i want to take my dog along with me, by making her sit on the petrol tank.

    Regards

    Shrinath

    Query Approved.

This has been perhaps the most amusing query that I have approved since the time I have been a moderator, here, on xBhp!

Yes, we see people carrying their dogs with them sometimes (on movies, TV shows, etc.). I have also wondered how do they actually train the canine to be so patient and more importantly keep it's balance while on the move. Although, it can be done to a certain extent, but I doubt whether the dog can really take the toll of touring extensively with the rider, on the motorcycle.

P.S: If you do manage to get the Lab trained (Labs are after all one of the most intelligent of the dog breeds), do not forget to get him/ her a quality lid!
    :)

Simple. Tie him up with strings or put him inside a tank bag.

Jokes apart, you should be asking this question in a dog forum not a biking. They will be able to answer your questions well since they are the dog experts. Go to www.kutta.com and try posting your query there.

      All the best !!!

Unless you are looking for a record of some sorts, for your and your dog's safety, get a car.

I do not think on the tank is a good option. Try something in your back.
Wonder if your doggy is ok with the idea of touring in bike.

sorry no offence, But this is one of the stupid things you can do while bike riding. Biking itself is one of the trickiest things to do and you want to endanger the life of a beautiful dog along with your life.

People who are new to bike riding cant be a gud pillion and you want to take an unpredictable dog which doesnt know anything about biking.
I love dogs and care for bikers like you but pls dont mix them.

                          +1.
I also did not like the idea unless your dog is very calm. That too if you take her in your back. On the petrol tank is a strict no no.
Take her is a car. That's the best option.

Dog on the tank is a strict no-no!
If I were in your place (I don't understand the point of taking the dog in the first place), I would tie a small basket to the pillion seat using bungee cords&also tie his feet to the basket so that he doesn't jump or fly off in case the bike goes over a pothole or something!
                            Quench my thirst with gasoline!

Yes its very much possible to train your dog to sit on the tank of your Bike and go for a ride.
M telling you this because I had an Pomeranian, which I used to take it on my Splendor when I was in 10th standard and go around my school to impress gals... hi hi hi

                              Happy Journey though....

haa.. how old is u r dog BTW.....
