  • [Help]: Pulsar 150 pricing.

    Hi Everybody,

I am planning to buy a Pulsar 150 which is some 4-5 years old.
Bike is 20k kms been run.
bike doesnot have a digital meter though it has a self start.

what will be the appropriate price for this buy..?

    Thanks,
    Vinod

I think that 1 is P150 UG2. The bike belongs to his roomie. So Please suggest accordingly...

4-5 year Old Pulsar done only 20K in ODO.......
        Seems to be Strange.....
Which u are saying is this is a
V1(Round headlight - with Spoc wheels)
V2(Bikini Fairing - with Alloy or Spoc wheels)

        DTSI or ordinary ???
What all the things working ......what are not working.......
Status of Tyres........Status of Scratches and worn parts.....
How is the pickup....how is the engine sound........

If the engine produces Knocking sound ---- Avoid it
If it is the V1 model and u mind on mileage --- Avoid it
Check for proper papers and insurance if not --- Avoid it

the price depends on the above status......

I would really really suggest you - do not go for 2nd hand Bike - that too pulsar....

          @ Thunder

The bike is a normal one not a DTSI.. the engine is not making the knocking sound.. gives milege around 50km/liter.. PicK up is good.. Papers are there i dont know about the insurance..but most probably even that has been done.. The reason going for a 2nd hand bike is i dont have any parking space as of now..the bike is parked outside of my place of residence on the road..after sometime i may move to a different place in future and i dont know what the conditions will be over there..i thnk its not suitable to go for a new bike in such a case..

5years and only 20k kms , the meter might have been changed sometime due to accident or something . also are you sure of mileage ? 50 seems oo high for the bike . owner may be bluffing .
Instead of Pulsar go for some 100/125 cc

              @ Puneet1

the owner is not bluffing since he is my flat mate..The bike is 20k km run that is confirmed..the mileage is around 45km/liter..

There are lots of bikes which are sparingly used. Just make sure that the engine is good & the 20K Odo is not only because the cable might have broken.

Get the bike thoroughly checked up by a mechanic.

Still nobody has recommended any pricing range.

I think the mechanic should be the best judge of that though. But still, a 2004 Classic Pulsar 20k km done should go for no more than 20-22k, maybe less, whatever the condition. thts what i feel.. Wht do u ppl recommend.

Since it's not a DTS-i, the price can be in the range of 20-23K.

Since its not a DTSI and its 5Year Old and calculating the Number of Versions the Pulsar has come out.....
The bike can be calculated to have 25% price of the Actual price of Pulsar150...
So it can be between 15-20.....
                          But strictly lesser than 20K......
Since the bike has ridden only for 20000 Km in ODO(as u say)
The owner might not have maintained it well.....so its better check it with a Mechanic.....
If u still not able to estimate the price....
Go to Bajaj Showroom and ask them how much will they take this bike as an Exchange for thier New Pulsar....have some 2-3K lesser that the price that they estimated,,,,
That should be the price you should Buy it......
                          Best of Luck......
